CCTV can help improve security if it is well planned and maintained. The crucial thing is monitoring though – will the cameras be monitored live or just recorded?If recorded then CCTV will only ever be a reactive tool.
There are video analysis systems out there that can privide some automation such as loitering, left objects etc. These systems are getting better and more reliable all the time.
